Sinethemba Trust
Mitigating the effects of childhood poverty on AIDS-related orphans and vulnerable children


Sinethemba means 'We have hope. Sinethemba Trust seeks to bring hope to the lives of orphans living in conditions of childhood poverty. It was established under the Dominican order in 2002. It reaches out to the orphans in Esigodini township and the surrounding rural communities in Kwa-zulu Natal, South Africa.


           

Vision
Recovery of the AIDS-related orphans and vulnerable children from the childhood poverty and growth into adults with income earning capacity

Mission
To enable the AIDS-related orphans and vulnerable children in the conditions of childhood poverty in Esigodini community to access quality education, psycho-social care, food and health care.

Strategic Objectives
To improve:
  • The learning outcomes of the AIDS-related orphans and vulnerable children, especially in mathematics and sciences;
  • The psycho-social well-being of the AIDS-related orphans and vulnerable children;
  • The physical and material well-being of AIDS-related orphans and vulnerable children;
